Density: 7.24g/cm³, it is denser, which makes it weighty and stable in applications, such as in ceramics, alloys, and other materials to increase the density and weight of the material.

Melting point: 2233°C (4051°F) or about 1900°C (data from different literature vary slightly). The high melting point ensures that it maintains stable physical properties at high temperatures and can be used in high temperature related processes and applications.

Boiling point: 3760°C (6800°F).

Solubility: very slightly soluble in water, the solubility is 0.00019g/100ml water at 20℃, the solubility is 0.003g/100ml water at 75℃, but easily soluble in inorganic acids.

Hygroscopicity and carbon dioxide absorption: It easily absorbs moisture and carbon dioxide in the air, so it needs to pay attention to moisture-proof and sealing during storage and use.

Magnetic properties: Nd2O3 has certain magnetic properties, it is one of the important raw materials for manufacturing permanent magnetic materials, and can be used to manufacture strong magnetic NdFeB permanent magnets.

Optical properties: It has important applications in the field of optics, where it has absorption and emission properties for light of specific wavelengths.

Applications of Neodymium oxide

Permanent magnet materials: Neodymium oxide is a key raw material for NdFeB permanent magnets, widely used in electric motors, wind turbines, electronics, aerospace and hard disk drives.

Optical field: It is used in laser materials such as Nd:YAG for cutting, welding, marking and medical applications, and as a glass coloring agent for colored, filter and protective optical glass with special optical properties.

Ceramic field: As a ceramic dopant, neodymium oxide improves ceramic performance and appearance, especially for high-temperature glazes.

Electronic field: Neodymium oxide is used as a dopant in ceramic capacitors to enhance electrical performance.
