Crystal structure: Iron has different crystal structures at different temperatures, and is body-centred cubic structure at room temperature. Below 912℃, iron exists in the form of α-Fe with body-centred cubic lattice; when the temperature rises above 912℃, it will be transformed into γ-Fe with face-centred cubic lattice; continue to raise the temperature to above 1394℃, it will be transformed into δ-Fe and return to body-centred cubic lattice.

Application

Iron and steel industry: It is used as the basic raw material for steel making, and combined with other elements through melting and other processes to make various kinds of steel products, which is an important source of steel required by construction, machinery manufacturing and other industries.

Powder metallurgy: made into high-precision, complex-shaped mechanical parts, such as gears, bearings, etc., through pressing, sintering and other processes, widely used in automotive, aerospace and other fields, to meet the special requirements for the performance and shape of the parts.
