Appearance: white powder.
Density: 5.01g/cm³.
Melting point: 2410℃, 2425℃.
Solubility: insoluble in water and alkali, soluble in acid.
Applications
Steel and non-ferrous alloys: Yttrium Oxide is used as an additive in steel and non-ferrous alloys, such as adding 0.5-4% yttrium to Fecr alloys to enhance the oxidation resistance and ductility of stainless steel; adding an appropriate amount of yttrium-rich rare earths to MB26 alloys to improve the comprehensive performance of the alloy, replacing part of the medium-strength aluminum alloys used in the aircraft stress components; adding a small amount of yttrium-rich rare earths to Al-Zr alloys. Add a small amount of yttrium-rich rare earths in Al-Zr alloys, can improve the conductivity of the alloy.
Ceramic materials: Silicon nitride ceramic materials containing 6% yttrium and 2% aluminum can be used for the development of engine components; added to optical glass and ceramic materials can improve their performance, such as used as a large screen TV with high brightness phosphor and other picture tube coatings.
Electronic industry: Yttrium Oxide is used in the manufacture of microwave magnetic materials, such as single-crystal yttrium iron cudgel, yttrium aluminum cudgel and other composite oxides; it can also be used in the manufacture of thin-film capacitors, high-voltage mercury lamps, lasers, storage components, such as magnetic bubble materials.
Other fields: for 400 Watt Nd-YAG laser beam for drilling, cutting and welding of large components.
Mechanical processing; used in Y-Al garnet single crystal sheet composition of the electron microscope fluorescent screen, its fluorescence brightness, low absorption of scattered light, high temperature resistance and good resistance to mechanical wear;
It can also be used as high-temperature-resistant spraying material, diluent of atomic energy reactor fuel, additive of permanent magnet material and air-absorbing agent in electronic industry, etc.
VI HALBLEITERMATERIAL GmbH (VIMATERIAL) employs a stringent quality assurance system to ensure the reliability of our product quality. Strict quality control is implemented throughout the entire production chain, and for defective products, we strictly enforce the principle of rework and redo. Each batch is released only after passing detailed specification tests.
Every batch of our materials is independently tested, and, if necessary, we send samples to certified companies for testing. We provide these documents and analysis certificates with the shipment to certify that our products meet the required standards.
