Application

Laser technology: Ytterbium metal are widely used in laser applications due to their specific energy level structure. For example, as a dopant in high power fibre lasers and amplifiers, it can significantly increase the output power and efficiency of the laser.

Optical materials: as a dopant in glass, laser optics and optical fibres, it can improve the optical properties of the material, such as increasing the refractive index, reducing optical loss, etc., and plays an important role in optical communications and optical sensing.

Electronic devices: can be used in the manufacture of electronic components, such as in semiconductor devices as an impurity doping, in order to adjust the electrical properties of semiconductors, to improve their electrical conductivity, carrier mobility and so on.
