Tungsten diselenide (WSe₂) target is an important coating material.

Basic information:

Chemical formula: WSe₂, composed of two elements, tungsten (W) and selenium (Se).

CAS login number: 12067-46-8.

Appearance: Usually appears blue-gray crystalline solid.

Density: The theoretical density is about 9.32 g/cm³.

Melting point: Information such as the melting point of the material is not explicitly mentioned in some of the data, but generally has high thermal stability.

Solubility: Insoluble in water and most organic solvents.

Chemical properties: Good chemical stability in air and water.

Preparation method:

Chemical vapor deposition (CVD) : By reacting the precursor gas containing tungsten and selenium at high temperature, it is deposited on the substrate to form Tungsten Selenide film, and then the film is stripped off the substrate to obtain Tungsten Selenide target material.

Hot pressing sintering method: tungsten powder and selenium powder are mixed in a certain proportion, sintered at high temperature and high pressure to obtain WSe₂ target material.

Application field:

Semiconductor field: Tungsten Selenide is a semiconductor material with a band gap of about 1.5 eV, which has potential applications in semiconductor device manufacturing, such as field-effect transistors (FETs), photodetectors, etc.

Optical field: Due to its special electronic structure and optical properties, it can be used in optical devices such as optical coatings and lasers, which can improve the performance of optical devices.

Battery field: It can be used as electrode material for lithium-sulfur batteries, etc., to improve the cycle stability and rate performance of the battery.

Coating field: As the target of magnetron sputtering, electron beam evaporation and other coating technologies, it is used to deposit WSe₂ films on various substrates to prepare functional films with special properties, such as absorption layers for solar cells, sensitive layers for sensors, etc.
