Titanium Tin Carbide (Ti2SnC) is a MAX phase ceramic material composed of titanium (Ti), tin (Sn), and carbon (C). MAX phase materials are a type of ceramic material with special structure and properties. They have the characteristics of metal elements, carbon and nitrogen and are often used in high-temperature structural materials and ceramic composite materials.
1. Ti2SnC material has high strength, high elastic modulus, self-lubricity, machinability, and especially high conductivity. It is an ideal material for brushes and electrodes to replace graphite.
2. Ti2SnC has a low friction coefficient, good corrosion resistance and thermal conductivity, and is very suitable for manufacturing various types of anti-friction components.
3. Ti2SnC can be used as a second phase reinforcing agent. Because of its high conductivity and high modulus, it is added to metals, ceramics and other materials to enhance strength while not affecting the conductivity of the matrix.
4. The yield strength and tensile strength of Ti2SnC reinforced Cu-based composite materials are 4 times and 2 times that of pure copper under the same process conditions, respectively, and the elongation is maintained at 12%, while the conductivity is reduced very little.
