Terbium Oxide particles are an important terbium compound.

Basic Information:

Chemical formula: Tb₄O₇, composed of the elements terbium (Tb) and oxygen (O).
Molar mass: 747.69 g/mol.
CAS No.: 12037-01-3.
Appearance: Usually appears as a dark brown or black powdered solid, but may vary slightly depending on preparation method and particle size.
Density: about 7.3 g/cm³.
Melting point: High, about 2350 °C.

Uses:

Preparation of other terbium compounds: due to its relatively stable chemical properties, it is an important raw material for the preparation of other terbium compounds (e.g. terbium metal, terbium fluoride, nitrate, etc.).

Fluorescent material: Terbium Oxide used as an activator of green phosphor for colour TV picture tubes, fluorescent lamps, etc. It is capable of emitting green light in the excited state.

Magneto-optical materials: Terbium Oxide used in the manufacture of magneto-optical recording equipment and magneto-optical glass, etc. They have a wide range of applications in laser technology, for example, they are used in the manufacture of key materials such as rotators, isolators and circulators, which are widely used in laser technology.

Solid-state devices: used as dopants in solid-state devices to improve device performance, such as in solid-state lasers and other devices.
