Tantalum foil is a thin sheet of tantalum material.

 

Basic Information:

 

Appearance: It usually has a silvery grey metallic luster with a relatively smooth and flat surface.
Density: The density is relatively high, approximately 16.69 gg/cm3.
Melting point: 3017°C.
Surface properties: the surface is prone to form a dense and stable oxide film, which has the property of a unidirectional conductive valve metal, and can further protect the inside of the tantalum foil from oxidation and corrosion.

 

Production process:

 

Tantalum metal powder is first subjected to powder rolling treatment and the first vacuum sintering treatment to obtain crude foil; then the crude foil is subjected to cold rolling treatment, the second vacuum sintering treatment and finishing rolling treatment to finally obtain tantalum metal foil.

 

Areas of application:

 

Electronic industry: Tantalum metal can be used to manufacture metal electrodes in semiconductor devices, metal wires and masks in the manufacturing process.

 

Aerospace industry: used in the manufacture of combustion chambers, ducts, throats and nozzles and other components of aircraft engines, as well as combustion chambers and nozzles in rocket engines, etc., which can work reliably in the harsh environment of high temperature and high pressure.

 

Nuclear industry: Tantalum metal can be used as fuel rods in nuclear reactors and as cladding materials for nuclear fuel, and its excellent corrosion resistance and high-temperature stability can meet the strict requirements of the nuclear industry.

 

Medical devices: Due to the good biocompatibility of tantalum, tantalum foil can be used in the manufacture of artificial joints, implants and other medical devices, which will not cause allergic reactions in the body.
