Tantalum carbide target is an important sputtering target with a wide range of applications.
Basic information:
Composition: mainly composed of tantalum carbide (TaC), a compound formed by tantalum (Ta) and carbon (C) elements.
High hardness: Mohs hardness between 9-10, comparable to that of diamond.
High melting point: melting point up to 3880°C.
Good electrical conductivity: low resistance at room temperature, good electrical conductivity, which is conducive to the formation of a stable plasma in the sputtering process, improve sputtering efficiency and film quality.
High density: generally above 14 g/cm³, which makes the target material in the sputtering process has a good stability, is not easy to be impacted by sputtering particles and displacement or deformation.
Application areas:
Semiconductor industry: In semiconductor manufacturing, tantalum carbide targets can be used in the physical vapour deposition (PVD) process to prepare thin films with specific functions, such as conductive films and barrier layers.
Optics: Used in the preparation of optical films, such as anti-reflective films, transmission enhancement films, etc., they can improve the performance of optical components and increase the resolution and transmittance of optical systems.
Hard Coating: Due to its high hardness and good abrasion resistance, it can be used as a hard coating material on the surfaces of cutting tools, moulds, etc. to improve their service life and cutting performance.
Aerospace field: In the aerospace field, tantalum carbide targets can be used to prepare high-temperature structural materials and wear-resistant coatings, such as jet engine turbine blades and rocket nozzle coatings, etc., which can improve their anti-burning performance and prolong their service life.
VI HALBLEITERMATERIAL GmbH (VIMATERIAL) employs a stringent quality assurance system to ensure the reliability of our product quality. Strict quality control is implemented throughout the entire production chain, and for defective products, we strictly enforce the principle of rework and redo. Each batch is released only after passing detailed specification tests.
Every batch of our materials is independently tested, and, if necessary, we send samples to certified companies for testing. We provide these documents and analysis certificates with the shipment to certify that our products meet the required standards.
