Crystal structure: Hexagonal crystal system, this crystal structure gives Na₃AlF₆ good chemical stability and specific ionic conductivity properties.

Applications

Aluminium electrolysis industry: It is an indispensable flux in the aluminium electrolysis process. It can significantly lower the melting point of alumina from about 2050°C to about 1000°C, which significantly reduces the energy consumption in the electrolysis process.

Glass manufacturing industry: as an additive in glass production, Na₃AlF₆ can reduce the melting temperature of glass, improve the clarification and homogenisation effect of glass, reduce the bubbles and impurities in glass, and improve the transparency and mechanical strength of glass.

Enamel industry: adding Na₃AlF₆ in enamel glaze can reduce the melting temperature of the glaze, promote the good combination of the glaze and the metal substrate, and improve the corrosion resistance, abrasion resistance and gloss of the enamel products.

Casting industry: when used in casting aluminium alloy, it can refine the grain, improve the casting performance and mechanical properties of aluminium alloy. It can effectively reduce the defects such as porosity and shrinkage in castings, and improve the dimensional accuracy and surface quality of castings.
