Water Treatment: Sodium aluminate is widely used as a coagulant and flocculant in water treatment processes. When added to water, it forms aluminum hydroxide, which binds impurities and aids in their removal.
Paper Manufacturing: In the paper industry, NaAlO₂ is used to improve paper strength, increase opacity, and control pH. Its use also helps to reduce the amount of rosin sizing needed.
Textiles and Fabrics: NaAlO2 is used as a mordant in the textile industry, which helps fix dyes to fabrics, improving colorfastness and brightness.
Construction and Cement: In cement manufacturing, sodium aluminate is used as an accelerator, speeding up the hardening process. It is particularly useful in conditions where rapid setting is required, such as cold weather.
Alumina Production: NaAlO₂ is sometimes used as an intermediate in the production of alumina (Al₂O₃), especially in Bayer processing.
Toxicity: Sodium aluminate is caustic and should be handled with care. It can cause skin and eye irritation upon contact, and inhaling its dust can irritate the respiratory tract.
Handling and Storage: NaAlO2 should be stored in a cool, dry place and kept away from moisture and acids. Personal protective equipment (PPE) like gloves and safety goggles should be used when handling it.
VI HALBLEITERMATERIAL GmbH (VIMATERIAL) employs a stringent quality assurance system to ensure the reliability of our product quality. Strict quality control is implemented throughout the entire production chain, and for defective products, we strictly enforce the principle of rework and redo. Each batch is released only after passing detailed specification tests.
Every batch of our materials is independently tested, and, if necessary, we send samples to certified companies for testing. We provide these documents and analysis certificates with the shipment to certify that our products meet the required standards.
