Silver metal pellets are solid particles of mainly silver, usually spherical or nearly spherical in shape. Their size can vary depending on the specific production process and application, and can range from a few millimetres to several centimetres in diameter.

Properties

Density and Weight: Silver has a density of approximately 10.49 g/cm³, and silver metal pellets have a certain weight to them due to this high density.

Melting Point and Thermal Stability: Silver has a melting point of 961.78°C, below which silver shot remains solid. This relatively high melting point allows them to maintain their shape at high temperatures (below the melting point) and can be used in applications where thermal stability is important.

Hardness and wear resistance: Silver has a Mohs hardness of around 2.5 – 3, and silver metal shot has a similar hardness. This means that they can be subjected to a certain degree of friction or impact where surface abrasion may occur, but their hardness is acceptable in environments where hardness is not critical, such as as as a carrier for certain chemicals. At the same time, the surface of silver metal shot can be improved by some treatments (such as hard metal plating layer) to improve its wear resistance.

Electrical and thermal conductivity: silver is a kind of metal with excellent electrical and thermal conductivity, and silver metal shot inherits this property. In electronic equipment, silver  pellets can be used as a good conductive medium, for example, in some special electrical contact point design, silver pellets can be used to transfer the current to ensure the efficient conduction of the circuit; in the heat dissipation system, silver pellets can be used as a heat conduction medium, help to disseminate heat.

Lustre and Appearance: Silver pellets have a typical silver-white metallic luster, which makes them valuable for applications in decorative, artistic and optical fields. For example, in some decorative ornaments or handicrafts, silver pellets can be used as the main decorative elements, using its luster to increase the aesthetic sense.

Stability and Reactivity: Silver pellets are relatively stable at room temperature and pressure. However, silver tends to react with sulphur in the air to form silver sulphide, resulting in surface discolouration. In a chemical environment, silver can react with strong oxidising acids such as nitric acid to produce compounds such as silver nitrate.

Antimicrobial properties: silver has antimicrobial properties, and the same is true for silver pills. Silver ions can interact with the intracellular components of microorganisms, such as bacteria, to inhibit or kill the microorganisms. In the medical field, silver metal pellets can be used in the preparation of antimicrobial materials, such as antimicrobial dressings, etc. Silver metal pellets are incorporated into the matrix of the dressing, allowing the silver ions to be released slowly, thus achieving antimicrobial properties.

Applications

Electronic industry: silver metal pellets can be used in the manufacture of electronic components, such as as some special capacitance of the electrode material. Its good conductivity can ensure the stability of the performance of capacitors; in some high-end electronic equipment heat dissipation module, silver metal pellets can also be used as a heat conduction medium, to improve the efficiency of heat dissipation.

Medical field: In addition to the preparation of antibacterial dressings, silver pellets can also be used in the manufacture of medical devices. For example, in the surface coating of some implantable medical devices, silver metal pellets can be added to prevent bacterial infections through the slow release of silver ions to improve the biocompatibility of medical devices.

Chemical field: In chemical synthesis, silver pellets can be used as catalyst carriers. Some active catalyst components loaded on the surface of silver metal pellets can improve the activity and stability of the catalyst, used to catalyse a number of organic reactions, such as oxidation reactions, hydrogenation reactions.

Decoration and art field: silver pellets can be used to make jewellery, crafts and so on. Using its luster and processability, a variety of beautiful jewellery and artwork can be made by inlaying and stringing to meet people’s aesthetic needs.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

VI HALBLEITERMATERIAL GmbH (VIMATERIAL) employs a stringent quality assurance system to ensure the reliability of our product quality. Strict quality control is implemented throughout the entire production chain, and for defective products, we strictly enforce the principle of rework and redo. Each batch is released only after passing detailed specification tests.

Every batch of our materials is independently tested, and, if necessary, we send samples to certified companies for testing. We provide these documents and analysis certificates with the shipment to certify that our products meet the required standards.
