Silver Copper Alloy Sputtering Targets are targets made of an alloy of silver and copper used to deposit thin films of silver-copper alloys on a substrate by the sputtering process.
Characteristics
Appearance: Typically yellow to silver-grey metallic solid appearance.
Density: Densities range from 9.7-10.4 g/cm3. The high density gives the target good stability and immunity to interference during the sputtering process and ensures the uniformity of the sputtered film.
Melting point: Silver and copper have relatively high melting points, but the melting point will change after the formation of the alloy, silver-copper alloy sputtering target melting point is roughly 779-900 ℃.
Electrical properties: silver and copper have good electrical conductivity, silver’s conductivity is among the highest of all metals, copper is also commonly used conductive metal. Silver copper alloy sputtering target combines the advantages of both, with good conductivity, can meet the requirements of the conductive layer in electronic devices. Its electrical parameters such as resistivity will vary according to the ratio and purity of silver-copper.
Mechanical properties: It has a certain hardness and strength, and can withstand ion bombardment and mechanical stress in the sputtering process. At the same time, the toughness of the target material is also good, not easy to rupture or damage in the sputtering process.
Applications
Electronic industry field:
Semiconductor manufacturing: in the production process of semiconductor chips, it can be used to manufacture conductive layers, electrodes and other components. Silver copper alloy has good electrical conductivity, which can meet the requirements of semiconductor devices on the electrical properties, and help to improve the performance and reliability of the chip. For example, in the metallisation process of integrated circuits, silver-copper alloy sputtered film can be used as a conductor material to realise the connection of circuits inside the chip.
Electronic encapsulation: Electronic encapsulation technology is to encapsulate the chip and other electronic components to protect the chip and realise the connection with external circuits. Silver copper alloy sputtering targets can be used to prepare the conductive layer of the packaging material, such as in the ball grid array (BGA) package, chip-scale packaging (CSP) and other forms of encapsulation, silver copper alloy film can improve the conductivity of the package and heat dissipation.
Sensor manufacturing: Sensors play a vital role in electronic devices, used to detect various physical quantities such as temperature, pressure, light, etc.. Silver copper alloy sputtering targets can be used to manufacture electrodes, sensitive layers and other components of sensors to improve their sensitivity and stability. For example, in temperature sensors, silver copper alloy thin films can be used as a resistive layer, whose resistance value changes with temperature, thus enabling temperature measurement.
Optical field:
Optical Coating: Plating a thin film on the surface of optical elements such as lenses, lenses, prisms, etc. can improve the performance of the optical elements, such as increasing the reflectivity, transmittance, and resistance to abrasion. Silver copper alloy sputtering targets can be used to prepare optical coating materials, whose films have good optical properties and stability. For example, a layer of silver copper alloy film coated on eyeglass lenses can increase the wear resistance and reflectivity of the lenses, reduce the reflection and scattering of light, and improve the visual effect.
Laser technology: Laser technology has a wide range of applications in the fields of medical treatment, communication and industrial processing. Silver copper alloy sputtering targets can be used to manufacture reflectors, lenses and other components of laser devices, and their thin films have good reflective properties and optical stability, which can improve the performance and reliability of laser devices.
Solar energy field: In the manufacturing process of solar cells, silver copper alloy sputtering targets can be used to prepare electrode materials. The electrodes of solar cells need to have good conductivity and stability to ensure the efficiency and life of the cells. Silver copper alloy thin film as electrode material can improve the photoelectric conversion efficiency and stability of solar cells, and reduce the cost of the battery.
Decorative field: it can be used to coat a layer of silver copper alloy film on the surface of metal, ceramics, glass and other materials, so as to make them have the appearance similar to that of silver or gold, and to increase the aesthetics and decorativeness of the products. For example, in the field of jewellery, handicrafts, architectural decoration, etc., silver copper alloy coating can replace part of the pure silver or gold materials, reducing costs while maintaining good decorative effect.
VI HALBLEITERMATERIAL GmbH (VIMATERIAL) employs a stringent quality assurance system to ensure the reliability of our product quality. Strict quality control is implemented throughout the entire production chain, and for defective products, we strictly enforce the principle of rework and redo. Each batch is released only after passing detailed specification tests.
