Niobium Nitride powder is a black or light gray slightly yellow powder with high melting point, high hardness, superconducting properties and strong chemical stability, the chemical formula is NbN, which is widely used in the fields of electronics and cemented carbide.

Superconductivity: niobium nitride becomes superconductor at low temperature (about 16K), its superconducting critical temperature is 17.3K, the upper critical magnetic field is 43T, and the critical current density (4.2K, 20T) is as high as, it is a kind of excellent superconducting thin film material, so it is widely used in infrared light detectors, superconducting quantum instrumentation devices and other fields.

Chemical stability: high thermal and chemical stability, insoluble in concentrated acid solution, but soluble in hot alkali or high concentration of alkali, and release ammonia; when heated to 500-800 ℃ in the air, the generation of niobium pentoxide at the same time release nitrogen; in a vacuum niobium nitride decomposition of niobium to generate metal niobium.

Applications in the field of electronics

Electronics: Due to its superconducting properties, niobium can be used in the manufacture of superconducting quantum interference devices, infrared detectors, etc., which helps to improve the performance and sensitivity of electronic devices.
