Niobium Chromium Alloy sputtering target is a key material for sputtering coating, which consists of niobium and chromium and has a high melting point. It is prepared by powder metallurgy and other methods, and can be used in a variety of applications, such as electronic devices and optical films.

Characteristics

Density: The density of niobium is about 8.57 g/cc and the density of chromium is about 7.19 g/cc, while the density of Niobium Chromium alloys varies within a range depending on the ratio of the two.

Melting point: the melting point of niobium is about 2468℃, the melting point of chromium is about 1857℃, the melting point of Niobium Chromium alloy is generally lower than that of niobium and higher than that of chromium, which is usually between 1800℃-2400℃.

Appearance: usually silver gray metallic luster.

Hardness: the hardness is higher than that of pure niobium and increases with the chromium content, e.g. the hardness of Nb-20Cr alloys with higher chromium content is significantly higher than that of pure niobium.

Strength: the strength of the alloy is also related to the chromium content, the chromium content increases, the strength increases accordingly, so that it can withstand greater external forces without deformation or damage.

Corrosion resistance: the addition of chromium significantly improves the corrosion resistance of the alloy, so that it can maintain good stability in a variety of corrosive environments, such as in a certain concentration of acid, alkali solutions, Nb-Cr alloy corrosion rate is significantly lower than pure niobium.

Antioxidant properties: At high temperatures,Niobium Chromium alloys form a dense oxide film on the surface, preventing the further diffusion of oxygen, thus improving its antioxidant properties, and the higher the chromium content, the better the antioxidant properties.

Conductivity: The alloy has good electrical conductivity, which can meet the requirement of current transmission during sputtering process and ensure the stable generation of plasma, and its conductivity is generally between 10^6-10^7 S/m .

Applications

Electronic devices: In the manufacture of integrated circuits, it can be used to prepare metallization layers, diffusion barrier layers, contact electrodes and other components. Its good conductivity and corrosion resistance can ensure the effective transmission of electronic signals and the reliability of electronic devices in complex chemical environments, and improve the performance and service life of integrated circuits.
