Nickel rotary targets are made of high-purity nickel (Ni), which possesses properties such as better ductility, magnetism, good stability and electrical conductivity, and plays an important role in many critical areas, mainly in electronic information, optics and batteries.

The nickel rotary targets supplied by VIMATERIAL are characterised by high purity, homogeneous composition and good densification. We can provide customised products according to customers’ requirements and target binding services. Our technical team has a lot of experience and can provide you with professional technical support, contact us.

Characteristics

Molecular formula: Ni

Molecular weight: about 58.69

Appearance: Silver-white lustre with metallic texture

Density: about 8.908g/cm³.

Melting point: about 1453℃

Boiling point: about 2913℃

Crystal structure: face-centred cubic (FCC) crystal structure, this structure gives nickel good ductility and plasticity, but also affects its electrical and thermal properties.

Application

Electronic information field: In semiconductor manufacturing, nickel thin films are prepared by physical vapour deposition (PVD) technology using nickel rotating targets, which are used to manufacture metal interconnect layers and barrier layers in integrated circuits. The good conductivity and stability of nickel help to improve the performance and reliability of the chip and guarantee the efficient operation of electronic equipment.

Optical coating field: It is used in the preparation of optical lenses, mirrors and other optical elements. Nickel film can improve the reflectivity, wear resistance and other properties of optical components, widely used in camera lenses, telescope lenses, etc., to enhance the imaging quality and service life of optical products.

Battery field: In the preparation of electrode materials for nickel-metal hydride batteries, nickel-cadmium batteries and other batteries, nickel rotary targets play an important role. The nickel thin film electrode formed by sputtering can improve the charging and discharging performance, cycle life and stability of the battery, to meet the needs of different devices on battery performance.

Quality Control

A comprehensive quality control system is strictly implemented for each batch of targets during the production process. From the screening and testing of raw materials, to the precise control of composition and monitoring of process parameters during the production process, to the testing of physical properties (such as hardness, density, electrical conductivity, etc.), chemical composition analysis, and microstructure testing of the finished product, every step of the process is subjected to meticulous testing. Moreover, we will provide customers with detailed test reports in a timely and accurate manner to ensure that customers are completely assured of the quality of our products.

Packaging and Storage

Nickel rotary targets are vacuum bagged and placed in customised high-strength wooden crates for reinforcement to ensure the safety and integrity of the product during long-distance transport and long-term storage.

Nickel rotary targets are vacuum-packed and should be stored in a dry, ventilated environment without corrosive gases to avoid moisture and oxidation.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

VI HALBLEITERMATERIAL GmbH (VIMATERIAL) employs a stringent quality assurance system to ensure the reliability of our product quality. Strict quality control is implemented throughout the entire production chain, and for defective products, we strictly enforce the principle of rework and redo. Each batch is released only after passing detailed specification tests.

Every batch of our materials is independently tested, and, if necessary, we send samples to certified companies for testing. We provide these documents and analysis certificates with the shipment to certify that our products meet the required standards.
