Crystal structure: cubic crystal system, its crystal structure is similar to that of sodium chloride, i.e. rock salt structure, in which each Ni is surrounded by six nearest distance O, oxygen atoms form positive octahedron and nickel atoms are in its centre; vice versa, oxygen atoms are also in positive octahedron formed by nickel atoms, and the whole crystal can be regarded as the face-centred cubic arrangement of Ni and the same face-centred cubic interlacing of O.

Applications

Battery field: In lithium-ion batteries, it can be used as an electrode material, which can store and release lithium ions through redox reaction, and improve the capacity and cycle stability of the battery.
