Magnesium fluoride is a colorless, transparent inorganic compound with excellent optical properties and chemical stability. Its granular form is commonly used in optical coatings, infrared window materials, laser devices and other fields.

The magnesium fluoride supplied by VIMATERIAL is characterized by high transmittance, high chemical stability, high hardness and good thermal stability, low refractive index, very low hygroscopicity, etc. Contact us for free technical support.

Characteristic

Chemical formula: MgF₂

Molecular weight: 62.30 g/mol

Density: 3.15 g/cm³

Melting point: 1255°C

Crystal structure: Tetragonal crystal system

Applications

Optical Coating: Magnesium fluoride granules are widely used in the manufacture of anti-reflective coatings, especially for optical components in the UV to IR bands. Their low refractive index makes them one of the preferred materials for multilayer optical coatings.

Infrared Optical Components: In infrared window and lens applications, magnesium fluoride has excellent light transmission and thermal stability. It is widely used in thermal imaging systems, infrared sensors and night vision equipment.

Laser system: Magnesium fluoride can be used as optical window material in laser resonance cavities and can withstand high power laser irradiation. Its high purity and good thermal properties can effectively reduce optical loss and thermal distortion.

UV optical equipment: Magnesium fluoride has a very high transmittance in the UV band, and is an ideal window and lens material for UV spectrometers and UV lamp systems. Its chemical stability also makes it less likely to deteriorate under high energy UV radiation.

Quality Control

VIMATERIAL strictly executes quality management system to ensure consistency and high standard in the whole process of R&D, production, shipment and service. All batches are required to pass the standardized test before shipment and any deviation is handled in accordance with 8D procedure. We are fully compliant with international standards such as REACH and ASTM, and are committed to building a sustainable and socially responsible supply chain.

Packaging and Storage

Magnesium fluoride granules are packed in double-layer vacuum packing with bottle protection and outer carton packing for small quantity order. Customized packaging is available upon request.

Store magnesium fluoride granules in a dry, cool place, avoid humid environment. Keep sealed and avoid contact with acid. Recommended storage temperature: 5°C-35°C, relative humidity < 60%.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

VI HALBLEITERMATERIAL GmbH (VIMATERIAL) employs a stringent quality assurance system to ensure the reliability of our product quality. Strict quality control is implemented throughout the entire production chain, and for defective products, we strictly enforce the principle of rework and redo. Each batch is released only after passing detailed specification tests.

Every batch of our materials is independently tested, and, if necessary, we send samples to certified companies for testing. We provide these documents and analysis certificates with the shipment to certify that our products meet the required standards.
