Lutetium Fluoride Powder is a mixture of white crystalline powder and particles of lutetium and fluorine, containing no water of crystallisation, with a melting point of 1182°C and a boiling point of about 2200°C. It has a wide range of applications in the fields of optical coatings, optical fibre doping, laser crystals, monocrystalline raw materials, laser amplifiers, and catalytic auxiliaries.

VIMATERIAL can accept customization for any of its products, target materials are provided with binding service, if you need, please contact us.

Characteristics

Molecular Formula: LuF₃

Molecular weight: about 231.97

Appearance: white powder

Density: 8.29 g/cm³

Melting point: 1182℃

Boiling point: 2200℃

Crystal structure: LuF₃ belongs to ionic crystal. It is formed by Lu³⁺ and F- through electrostatic action to form a regular arrangement, and this ionic bonding makes it have the general characteristics of ionic crystal, such as higher melting point, boiling point and hardness.

Applications

Optical Fiber Doping: Lutetium fluoride powder is used as a dopant in the manufacture of optical fibers to modify the optical properties of the fiber.

Laser Materials: Lutetium fluoride powder is an important laser gain medium material used in the manufacture of solid-state lasers, which have a wide range of applications in industrial processes such as laser cutting, laser welding, laser marking, as well as in laser medicine and laser research.

Transfluorescent luminescent materials: play a role in the preparation of transfluorescent luminescent materials, which are capable of emitting absorbed energy at specific wavelengths to produce a unique luminescent effect, and can be used in the fields of fluorescent labeling, display technology, and so on.

Electronic Materials: Lutetium fluoride powder can be used in the preparation of electronic ceramic materials, which can improve the dielectric properties of ceramic materials, increase the capacitance value and stability of capacitors, and meet the demand for miniaturized and high-performance capacitors in electronic equipment.

Quality Control

Strict quality control system is implemented for each batch of production, and detailed testing is carried out in all aspects from component content, physical properties to microstructure, etc., and timely and accurate detailed test reports are provided.

Packaging and Storage

Lutetium Fluoride Powder is packed in double-layer vacuum bags or bottles, outside in strong cartons or wooden cases, and inside in soft cushions.

Lutetium Fluoride Powder should be stored in a dry, cool and ventilated environment, sealed and kept in corrosion-resistant containers, avoiding contact with acids, alkalis and other chemicals to prevent chemical reactions leading to deterioration.
