Lead metal target is an important material used in processes such as sputter coating.

Basic Information:

Definition:Lead target is a solid material made of lead or lead alloy that is used as a lead source in physical vapour deposition (PVD) processes such as sputtering.
Appearance: usually shows a silver-grey metallic luster.
Density: Lead has a high density of approximately 11.34 g/cm3.
Hardness: Lead itself is a relatively soft metal with a Mohs hardness of approximately 1.5.
Melting point: Lead has a relatively low melting point of 327.5 °C.

Chemical properties:

Oxidation resistance: At room temperature, lead is easily oxidised in air, forming a thin film of lead oxide (PbO) on the surface of the target.
Corrosion resistance: Lead has a certain degree of corrosion resistance to some common acids and alkalis, but under the action of strong oxidising acids (e.g. concentrated sulphuric acid, concentrated nitric acid), it will be corroded by chemical reaction.

Application Areas:

Semiconductor industry: In semiconductor manufacturing, lead targets can be used to prepare electrodes, wiring and other thin films, which play the role of conductivity and connection.

Optical field: lead metal target can be used for the preparation of optical films, such as in some optical lenses, filters and other products, through the sputtering of lead film can achieve specific optical properties, such as increasing reflectivity, reduce transmittance, etc..

Radiation protection field: Because lead has a good shielding effect on rays, lead target can be used to prepare radiation protection materials.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

VI HALBLEITERMATERIAL GmbH (VIMATERIAL) employs a stringent quality assurance system to ensure the reliability of our product quality. Strict quality control is implemented throughout the entire production chain, and for defective products, we strictly enforce the principle of rework and redo. Each batch is released only after passing detailed specification tests.

Every batch of our materials is independently tested, and, if necessary, we send samples to certified companies for testing. We provide these documents and analysis certificates with the shipment to certify that our products meet the required standards.
