Lanthanum Carbonate Hydrate Powder is a white, hygroscopic, slightly soluble in water but soluble in acids, with a density between 2.6 – 2.7g/cm³, and can be used in many fields such as catalysts, glass ceramics, pharmaceuticals, and so on.

For patients with chronic renal failure, especially those undergoing haemodialysis or continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis, the kidneys are unable to effectively excrete phosphorus from the body, which can lead to hyperphosphataemia. Lanthanum carbonate hydrate can combine with phosphate in food in the gastrointestinal tract to form an insoluble lanthanum salt complex, thus reducing the absorption of phosphorus by the body and lowering the concentration of phosphorus in the blood, which can help to prevent and treat a series of complications caused by hyperphosphatemia, such as secondary hyperparathyroidism.
