Gallium Nitrate Powder is a white powder with the chemical formula Ga (NO₃)₃, easily soluble in water, mainly used in the field of medicine for the treatment of hypercalcemia and other diseases, as a raw material for the synthesis of other gallium compounds, and also helpful for the research and development of new materials in the field of material science.

Characteristics

Appearance properties: usually white powder.

Solubility: easily soluble in water, also has some solubility in alcohol, but insoluble in ether.

Density: relative density is 1.623, its melting point is about 110℃, boiling point is measured at 83℃ (760mmHg).

Oxidizability: as a nitrate, it has some oxidizing properties.

Stability: relatively stable at room temperature and pressure, but care should be taken to avoid contact with flammable and combustible substances to prevent dangerous reactions.

Applications

Pharmaceutical field:

Treatment of hypercalcemia: Gallium Nitrate is mainly used to treat hypercalcemia caused by malignant tumors and Paget’s disease. Its mechanism of action is to inhibit the activity of osteoclasts and prevent the decomposition of bones, so as to reduce the level of free calcium in the blood.

Cancer therapeutic adjuvant: It has certain adjuvant therapeutic effects on cancers and tumors such as lymphoma, non-small cell lung cancer, etc., although the specific efficacy and mechanism of action are still under further study.

Chemical synthesis field: Gallium Nitrate can be used to synthesize other gallium compounds, and is an important raw material for the preparation of many gallium-containing compounds.

Material science field:
