Gallium metal ingot is a kind of metal material with gallium as the main component, usually silver-white in appearance, with cubic crystal structure, melting point of about 29.78℃, boiling point of about 2403℃, density of about 5.907g/cm³, in the form of lump, which is widely used in semiconductors, optics, chemical industry, and many other fields.
Characteristic
Appearance: Usually a silvery-white lumpy solid with a metallic luster.
Melting point: very low at 29.78°C (about 30°F), which means that it can be melted at slightly above room temperature, and is one of the few metals that appears liquid near room temperature.
Boiling point: Relatively high, about 2403 °C.
Density: about 5.907 g/cm³.
Crystal structure: cubic crystal structure.
Applications
Semiconductor field: gallium metal is an important element for making semiconductor materials. For example, gallium arsenide (GaAs) is an important semiconductor material, widely used in microwave circuits, high-speed switching circuits and infrared circuits, etc.; gallium nitride (GaN) can be used to make high-power, high-frequency electronic devices, which have important applications in the fields of 5G communications, electric vehicle chargers, LED lighting, etc.
Optical field: gallium metal can be used to enhance the refractive index of glass, used to make special optical glass. For example, in high-power laser reflectors, this characteristic of gallium can make the reflector with high reflective ability and high temperature resistance.
Chemical field: Gallium halide has high activity and can be used as a catalyst for processes such as polymerization and dehydration, e.g. gallium trichloride can be used to produce ethylbenzene, propylbenzene and ketone.
Alloys: Gallium metal can be used with indium, thallium, tin, bismuth, zinc and other metals in the 3 ℃ – 65 ℃ between the composition of a series of low-melting alloys, these low-melting alloys can be used for different temperature needs of measuring and controlling devices and instruments. For example, gallium alloys containing 25% indium melt at 16°C and can be used in automatic fire extinguishing devices.
Other applications: Gallium metal is also used as a heat exchange medium in nuclear reactors, in solar cells, in biomedicine, etc.
VI HALBLEITERMATERIAL GmbH (VIMATERIAL) employs a stringent quality assurance system to ensure the reliability of our product quality. Strict quality control is implemented throughout the entire production chain, and for defective products, we strictly enforce the principle of rework and redo. Each batch is released only after passing detailed specification tests.
Every batch of our materials is independently tested, and, if necessary, we send samples to certified companies for testing. We provide these documents and analysis certificates with the shipment to certify that our products meet the required standards.
