Dysprosium sulfate powder is usually a white to light yellow crystalline powder with the chemical formula Dy2(SO4)3 and relative density of 3.119. It is easily soluble in water and undergoes a small amount of hydrolysis in hot water, and the aqueous solution is weakly acidic and stable at 110°C, but loses all the crystalline water when heated to 360°C. It is mainly used in magnetic materials, fluorescent markers, MRI contrast agents, etc. Mainly used in magnetic materials, fluorescent labeling, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) contrast agent and other fields.

Properties of Dysprosium sulfate

Molecular formula: Dy2(SO4)3

Molecular weight: about 613.24 g/mol

Appearance: usually white to light yellow crystalline powder

Crystal structure: monoclinic crystal system

Solubility: soluble in water, insoluble in organic solvents.

Stability: more stable in dry environment, but easy to absorb moisture and deliquesce, need to be sealed and stored.

Applications of Dysprosium sulfate

Ceramic materials: Dysprosium sulfate can be used as an additive in ceramic materials to improve the performance of ceramics, such as improving the hardness and heat resistance of ceramics.Dysprosium sulfate can be used in the production of special optical glass to increase the refractive index and improve the optical properties of glass.

Magnetic field: Dysprosium itself has important applications in the magnetic field. Dysprosium sulfate can be used as a precursor material for the preparation of magnetic materials, as well as for the production of permanent magnets and other magnetic materials.

Biomedical field: In the biomedical field, dysprosium sulfate can be used as a contrast agent for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to improve the contrast and clarity of the image, but the application in this area is still in the research stage.

Quality Control

VI HALBLEITERMATERIAL GmbH implements strict whole-process quality control and 8D problem solving mechanism to ensure that products comply with REACH, ASTM and industry standards, and support sustainable development and supply chain traceability. The company is committed to providing customers with high-quality products and services by managing the entire process from R&D to delivery and adhering to the principle of reworking non-conforming products.

Packaging and Storage

Dysprosium sulfate is packed in vacuum bag and special carton to ensure the safety of transportation, and the capacity can be customized according to customers’ requirements.

Dysprosium sulfate should be sealed and stored in a dry environment away from light to prevent moisture absorption and decomposition.
