Properties of Dysprosium iron alloy

Color: Usually gray-black metallic powder with metallic luster.

Crystal structure: cubic/hexagonal phase

Magnetism: Dysprosium ferroalloy has strong magnetism, which is due to dysprosium itself is a rare earth element with special electronic structure, and the alloy powder formed after combining with iron has high magnetic permeability and magnetic saturation.

Chemical properties: Dysprosium alloy is easy to oxidize in the air, so it needs to be properly preserved, generally using the inner layer of double plastic bags vacuum filled with argon gas, the outer layer of iron drum package. It is readily soluble in acids and will react chemically under the action of acids to produce the corresponding salt compounds.
