Physical Properties:

Copper Zirconium Alloy: A special type of bronze in which zirconium is the main alloying element. is an alloy, there is no fixed molecular formula, its main components are copper (Cu) and zirconium (Zr).

Appearance: usually greyish-white metallic luster.

Density: varies according to the proportion of components, generally around 7.5 – 8.5 g/cm³. For example, the density of Cu-10Zr alloy is about 7.82 g/cm³.

Melting point: the melting point of copper is about 1083℃, the melting point of zirconium is about 1852℃, the melting point of copper-zirconium alloy is between the two, and increases with the increase of zirconium content, such as the melting point of Cu-10Zr alloy is about 1050℃.

Boiling point: The boiling point of copper is about 2567℃, the boiling point of zirconium is about 4377℃, and the boiling point of copper-zirconium alloy is also in this range, which varies depending on the composition.

Crystal structure: Copper has a face-centred cubic structure and zirconium has a dense hexagonal structure at room temperature. The crystal structure of copper-zirconium alloys is complex and varies according to factors such as composition and processing. Generally speaking, when the zirconium content is low, zirconium atoms may be solidly dissolved into the copper lattice, the formation of copper-based solid solution, at this time the alloy still maintains the face-centred cubic structure; when the zirconium content is higher, a variety of intermetallic compounds may form phases, such as CuZr, CuZr₂ and so on, these intermetallic compounds have their own unique crystal structure, CuZr for the body-centred cubic structure, CuZr₂ for the quadrilateral structure. CuZr₂ is tetragonal, etc.

Molecular weight: The exact molecular weight cannot be determined due to the uncertainty of the composition, if the specific content of copper and zirconium is known, it can be calculated according to the atomic weights of the two, the atomic weight of copper is about 63.55, and the atomic weight of zirconium is about 91.22. For example, the molecular weight of a Cu-10Zr alloy can be approximated to be 63.55×0.9+91.22×0.1=66.32.

Applications:

Cables and wires: due to the high conductivity of copper-zirconium alloys, they are widely used in the manufacture of high-performance cables and wires, especially in applications requiring high conductivity and durability.

Electrical connectors: Used in the manufacture of a variety of electrical connectors, such as plugs, sockets, terminals and so on.

Switches: In electrical switches, copper-zirconium alloys can be used to manufacture contacts and other key components.

Electronic components: such as lead frames and high-voltage contacts in the semiconductor manufacturing process, copper-zirconium alloy’s high conductivity and moderate strength can meet the requirements of these components in high-precision, high-reliability electronic equipment, to ensure the accurate transmission of electronic signals and the normal operation of the equipment.

Packaging and storage:

Packaging can be individualised. We will select the appropriate packaging material according to the nature of the granular material.

Copper Zirconium Alloy granules are packed in cartons after double vacuum bottling.

Copper Zirconium Alloy granules should be stored in a dry, cool and ventilated place, sealed to prevent moisture, oxidation and contact with other corrosive substances.

Quality Control:

Each batch of goods is accompanied by COA and analysis report, the goods are all qualified, please feel free to order.
