Physical properties

Molecular formula: CoFe

Appearance: Usually grey or black powdery particles with metallic luster.

Density: generally around 7.7-8.3 g/cm³.

Melting point: roughly between 1400℃-1500℃.

Boiling point: usually around 3000°C

Crystal structure: Mainly face-centred cubic (FCC) and body-centred cubic (BCC).

Applications

Magnetic material field: Cobalt-Iron alloy particles have high saturation magnetisation strength and good magnetic permeability, which can be used to manufacture high-performance permanent magnets and soft magnetic materials, such as in electric motors, transformers and other electrical equipment, which can effectively improve the performance and efficiency of the equipment.

Electronic device field: due to its good conductivity and electromagnetic shielding properties, it can be used to prepare electrode materials and electromagnetic shielding materials for electronic components, to ensure the normal operation and stability of electronic equipment and reduce electromagnetic interference.

Catalyst field: with unique surface properties and catalytic activity, it can be used as a catalyst in a variety of chemical reactions, such as in the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis reaction, which can effectively promote the conversion of carbon monoxide and hydrogen into liquid hydrocarbon fuels to improve the efficiency of the reaction and product selectivity.

Biomedical field: with good biocompatibility and certain magnetic properties, it can be used to prepare biomedical materials, such as drug carriers and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) contrast agents, to achieve targeted delivery of drugs and accurate diagnosis of diseases.
