Cerium Carbonate

Cerium carbonate powder is a white or slightly yellowish crystalline powder, insoluble in water, mainly used as an intermediate compound in the production of cerium, which is widely used in rare earth luminescent materials, automobile exhaust purification catalysts, polishing materials and other fields.

Solubility: insoluble in water, but boiling its aqueous suspension will hydrolyse to produce insoluble carbonate complex salt.

Stability: It has some thermal stability, and decomposes to CeO₂ when heated at 900℃.

Reactivity: it can react with most acids to produce corresponding salts, with certain chemical reaction activity.

Oxidation and reduction: cerium has a variety of valence, cerium carbonate can show oxidation or reduction under certain conditions, but relatively speaking, its oxidation and reduction is not particularly strong.

APPLICATIONS
Catalyst field: it can be used as a catalyst in a variety of chemical reactions, showing good catalytic properties in redox reactions. For example, in some organic synthesis reaction, cerium carbonate powder can promote the reaction, improve the reaction rate and selectivity.
