Cadmium sulfide particles are an important inorganic compound material.
Basic information:
Chemical formula: CdS.
Molecular weight: 144.46.
CAS: 1306-23-6.
Appearance: Usually orange to dark brown powder, odorless.
Density: The relative density is about 4.82 g/cm³.
Melting point: high, about 1750℃.
Solubility: Insoluble in water, but soluble in concentrated acid.
Diopter: 2.529.
Preparation method:
High temperature solid phase method: the cadmium source (such as cadmium powder or cadmium compounds) and sulfur source (such as sulfur powder or hydrogen sulfide gas) are mixed in a certain proportion, and the reaction is performed at high temperature to produce CdS particles.
Chemical precipitation method: the cadmium salt solution and sulfide solution are mixed to produce CdS precipitation through chemical reaction. Then through filtration, washing, drying and other steps, cadmium sulfide particles are obtained.
Hydrothermal method: Under the hydrothermal condition of high temperature and high pressure, cadmium source and sulfur source react in aqueous solution to form CdS particles.
Applications:
Pigment field: Cadmium sulfide particles are a commonly used yellow pigment, widely used in enamel, glass, ceramics, plastics, paints and other coloring.
Semiconductor field: As a semiconductor material, CdS particles have applications in photovoltaic devices such as solar cells, photoresistors, and photodetectors.
Biomedical field: CdS particles have good fluorescence characteristics and biocompatibility, which can be used for bioimaging, cell labeling and drug delivery.
In the field of photocatalysis: CdS particles have certain activity in the photocatalytic reaction, and can be used to degrade organic pollutants, decompose water and produce hydrogen.
VI HALBLEITERMATERIAL GmbH (VIMATERIAL) employs a stringent quality assurance system to ensure the reliability of our product quality. Strict quality control is implemented throughout the entire production chain, and for defective products, we strictly enforce the principle of rework and redo. Each batch is released only after passing detailed specification tests.
Every batch of our materials is independently tested, and, if necessary, we send samples to certified companies for testing. We provide these documents and analysis certificates with the shipment to certify that our products meet the required standards.
