Aluminum hydroxide, chemical formula of Al(OH)3, is the aluminum hydroxide.Aluminum hydroxide is a kind of amphoteric hydroxide because it can react with acid to produce salt and water and strong base to produce salt and water. It is also called aluminic acid (H3AlO3) because of its acidity.

Solubility in water (g/100ml)

Number of dissolved grams per 100ml water: 0.0001g/20℃

Application:

Aluminum hydroxide is the most widely used inorganic flame retardant additive. Al(OH)3 as a flame retardant can not only flame retardant, and can prevent smoke, do not produce droplets, do not produce toxic gas, therefore, has been widely used, the use is increasing year by year.

Application scope:

Thermosetting plastics, thermoplastics, synthetic rubber, coating and building materials and other industries. At the same time, Al(OH)3 is also the basic raw material of aluminum fluoride needed in electrolytic aluminum industry, aluminum hydroxide is also widely used in this industry.

Toxicity:

The toxic effects of aluminum are mechanical stimulation to lung tissue; second, it causes protein precipitation and forms fibrous irreversible protein compounds without inflammatory manifestations. Inhalation of aluminum dust mainly damages the lungs, which is called alumina lung; chronic symptoms include weight loss, extreme fatigue, dyspnea, and cough. Chemicalbook Aluminum hydroxide causes alveolar epithelial hyperplasia more significantly than aluminum.

The maximum allowable concentration is 6mg/m3.

Minor wounds can be treated with alcohol or gasoline first, and then covered with non-toxic dressings; large wounds can be excised and sutured, and treated with sulfonamide preparations and penicillin. When working in places with high dust content, you should wear a gas mask, protective glasses, and dust-proof work clothes to protect your skin and eyes. Regular physical examinations should be conducted once a year.
