Physical properties

Molecular formula: CoFe

Appearance: Silver grey, metallic luster target material.

Density: around 7.7 – 8.2g/cm³, according to the proportion change.

Melting point: between 1495 – 1538°C, according to the proportion variation

Boiling point: about 2870 – 3000°C, depending on the ratio

Crystal structure: mainly face-centred cubic (fcc) and body-centred cubic (bcc) structure, the crystal structure will change depending on the composition, affecting the soft magnetic properties.

Applications

Electronic circuit field: it can be used in electronic circuits to form thin films with good electrical conductivity and magnetic properties through sputter coating to optimise the electromagnetic properties and signal transmission of the circuit.

In the field of magnetic storage: In the manufacture of magnetic storage media, the thin films deposited by the target improve the magnetic properties of the storage unit and help to achieve higher density and more stable data storage.

Sensor technology: used in the production of sensors, the sputtered thin films can accurately detect physical quantities and convert them into electrical signals by virtue of their sensitive response to changes in the magnetic field.

Power electronics: Thin films can be deposited in power electronic devices to improve the magnetic permeability and loss characteristics of the devices and enhance power conversion and transmission efficiency.
