Medical imaging: its isotope \u00b9\u2076\u2079Tm can be bombarded in a nuclear reactor, where the reaction produces \u00b9\u2077\u2070Tm and emits X-rays, which can be used as a source of radiation in portable X-ray equipment for medical diagnosis and defect detection.<\/p>\n

Laser material field: Thulium metal and erbium, yttrium and other elements composed of laser materials with good optical properties, can produce shorter wavelength laser, is widely used in the manufacture of laser devices.<\/p>\n

Optical field: Trivalent thulium can emit blue fluorescence under ultraviolet irradiation, which can be used for anti-counterfeiting of euro banknotes, as well as for the manufacture of optical glass and phosphor.<\/p>\n
